What features does GSpace have in regards to Game Play?
There will be a number of options available to the game creator.
There will be an option to create 2 or more teams, which must be
balanced before the game will start. Another is free-for-all, where
each player will have to defend for himself.
Each player will have a bounty associated with them. The bounty
will grow over time, and will increase by the number of fellow players
he kills. Other players can come along and collect bounties, which
they can then go back to various star bases and spend on various
upgrades and repairs to their ships.
AI players will be an option in smaller games, which other players
will be able to play with. When in team mode, the game will decide
which team will need the AI player more. AI players will not be
available in free-for-all type game.
Two main style of ships :-
· Capital - With these style of ships, there will be a
number of roles onboard. There will be the navigator, whose sole
job is to fly the ship around. The navigator may also have weapons
which will be fixed and will have to be aimed based on the ships
bearing. Another responsibility will be the turret fighter. He
will be able to move his turret around for a limited axis, and
will be able to fire at any ships he sees come into range.
· Fighter - Only one person will be responsible for these
type of ships. Very much like the navigators of the capital ships,
he will be able to fire and shoot on a fixed axis of the flight
of the ship.
· Bombers - Unlike fighters, these ships will have to optional
capacity to have one turret at the back of the vessel. Characteristically,
the bomber will be slower then the fighter, faster then the capital
ship, and will also have weaponry to take down capital ships,
but vulnerable to fighters.
Also floating around in space, you'll find various non-ship
based objects such as:
· Asteroids - These will be physical objects which the
player will have to avoid.
· Black Holes - The player will be have to be careful with
this kind of object, if they get too close they start feeling
the effect and get sucked in.
· Worm Holes - A primary means of transport, but also a
very dangerous ones. Some of these will happen randomly at run-time,
while others will be set by the level design. Basically there
will be several kinds of wormholes, stable ones which the player
will find another wormhole at the other end. One way, where the
user will be trapped on the other side and unstable wormholes
which will only exist for a short time before disappearing again.
· Nebulas - Players who are on the run will be able to
temporarily hide in these fields, which will dampen the effect
of their signatures on various scanners. Players scanners will
also be effected as well, so they will not be able to see various
players coming up behind them.
